2010 Environmental Beautification Award Winners

This year many NYSNLA members from around the state submitted entries for the 2010 Beautification Awards Program.  It was another record year for entries with a total of 27 submissions.  Our judges demonstrated careful consideration in evaluating each entry and found all projects remarkable.  Of course, several of the entries stood out and deserve recognition as the 2010 Award Winners!

2010 Award Winners

  • Tim Barry of Dodds & Eder: "A Welcoming Surprise" in the category:  Residential $25,000 to $50,000
  • Tim Barry of Dodds & Eder:  "Venturing Out" in the category:  Residential $50,000 to $100,000
  • Michael Zaino of Louis Zaino, Inc. and Michael Spitzer of LANDGARDEN:  "The Singer Residence" in the category:  Residential over $100,000
  • Steven Dubner of Steven Dubner Landscaping, Inc.:  "The Visionaire" in the category:  Commercial over $100,000
  • Beth Feldman of Haven On Earth Garden Designs, Ltd.:  "Beauty and Function on a Limited Budget" in the category:  Unique or Unusual more than $6,000
  • Luke Kreye of Emil Kreye & Sons, Inc.:  "Old Westbury Oasis" in the category:  Unique Use of Water Unlimited

Congratulations to all of this year's winners!

Award winners will be honored and their awards presented at the annual State Arbor Day ceremony on April 30, 2010. Winners will also be recognized during the state awards ceremonies at the State Fair. In addition, winners will be featured on the NYSNLA website and in NYSNLA's quarterly publication, Nursery Lines.

If you would like to enter the 2011 Environmental Beautification Awards Program, please click here for more information and the 2011 Entry Packet. This awards program is open to all NYSNLA members in good standing who've completed landscape design/architecture projects.  Projects are eligible where the applicant(s) has performed substantially all of the work in this submission from the design through project completion. The submitted project must have been completed during the period of October 2008 through December 2010.  We look forward to your submissions!
